1. Brought a sleep debt by being anxious about my poster presentation.
2. Trebled it in the week away.
3. Threw a pillow over a wardrobe (the old wardrobe stood in a niche in the wall, the new one is wider than the niche. Trying to put a spare pillow on top of it did not go well).
4. Broke a water carafe (and learned where the nurse can be found. But it was nothing but a small scratch).
5. Watched 3 new-ish Russian movies: liked one of them and tolerated two of the others.
6. Bought 4 new items of clothing.
7. Wore a skirt for the second time in 10 years, and for the second time in a year at the same time.
8. Observed people.
9. Observed myself.
10. Did not listen to many of the speeches/did not ask participants to talk about many of the posters.
11. Sold books of abstracts.
12. Did not have time for LJ.
13. Learned a dozen more names of regular conference guests.
14. Decided to finally extend effort to become real friends with one of them.

Making friends is a good thing. I've come to shamelessly beeg for your vote Elena if you haven't already! And to just say hi! The books of Abstracts you were selling - are they your own? Hug, hello, and peace! ~~~D

No, those were abstracts for the papers presented at the conference: the author who presented the paper gets one as part of the participation fee, and the other have to buy it if they so wish.

Yes, sure. I have already voted for you this week :). Saw that ellakite got voted out last time, it was a bummer :/

The Star. It is tragic, but uplifting at the same time.

There is a lot of modern slang there :-) . I am not sure if it's available online though: a colleague brought several DVDs, that was how we watched movies.

It is important to me that the movie is that way, otherwise I don't like it.

One of the other two, called Weekend, was a remake of your film 'L'asenseur pour l'échafaud'. I haven't seen the original, but the new one has interesting unexpected filming angles, and quite good acting, but the ending is afwul, with the main character confessing both to a murder hhe did not commit and the one he did, and the other baddie escaping scot free. That is life, but I don't care for such a depiction of life.
